“Arboriculture”

Arboriculture is the practice of caring for trees, and pruning is one of its most important skills. A good cut helps a tree grow strong for decades. A bad one can cause damage that lasts just as long. Jonah Ivy of Transforming Terrain, a Tucson land stewardship business, shares how to prune with a tree’s long-term health in mind. He’ll show examples of good and bad pruning, explain structural pruning for young trees, and cover the best timing for pruning in the Sonoran Desert. You’ll leave ready to care for your own trees with confidence.

Speaker: Jonah Ivy from Transforming Terrain

Transforming Terrain specializes in regionally adapted sustainable land stewardship. This includes plant care for native trees and other plants, rainwater harvesting, flood and erosion control, and plant identification. We believe healing our land is the best way to heal our community, which is why we prioritize education along side our installations and maintenance.
