Free Members-Only Hands-On Tree Cloning Workshop

On Sunday, February 8th from 10 AM – 12 PM at the home of our club member, Richard, on E. Arroyo Chico in central Tucson, we will be holding a free tree cloning workshop! Richard is a long-time resident of Tucson and is a local expert in cloning trees and growing native plants and trees adapted to the Tucson region.

The event will be located on Richard’s backyard and there will be a ramada to use use if it rains. This workshop is limited to 12 people.

Richard will supply: Mission Fig Tree Cuttings and Wonderful Pomegranate cuttings, and Dip and Grow Rooting Hormone from EcoGro to take home.

Participants should bring: a sharp pair of hand pruners, metal wire and an aluminum pie tin for making plant tags (metal hangers and aluminum cans work well), 4” or Dixie Cup size plant pots with drainage holes with potting soil (Richard’s favorite potting soil for this purpose is hydrated Coconut Coir from EcoGro or similar with some perlite, sand, or vermiculite for drainage) sufficient for the number of cuttings they want to take home, one or two cuttings per plant pot.

If you are not sure if your membership is current, email us at tucsonorganicgardeners@gmail.com and we can verify it for you.

If you would like to join our club or renew your membership, it is just $15/year. Join HERE.
