SUMMARY:October General Meeting - Rainwater Harvesting
DESCRIPTION:General Meeting at Ward 6 City Council Office 3202 E 1st St\, Tucson and via Zoom. \n“Rainwater Harvest in the Desert” \nSpeaker: Melissa Geoffrion from Green Bee Holistic Home Services \nRainwater harvesting in the Desert is the key to a sustainable garden and landscape. GreenBee will highlight the benefits of both “active” and “passive” rainwater harvesting\, explain the differences between these systems\, and provide guidance on how to get started at your home.  Mel & Damien will also go over how Tucson Water customers can receive a rebate of almost $2000 for installing a rainwater harvesting system. \nGreenBee is a Tucson based\, woman owned and family run\, small business offering sustainable home services that include rainwater harvesting and environmentally focused landscape design and installation. \nFrom Melissa’s early years in Chicago studying architecture and earning a BA in psychology\, to a 28 year career in high tech\, her path has been anything but linear.  During the Covid pandemic\, she returned to her lifelong passions and founded Green Bee Wholistic Home Services with her husband\, Damien.  They have 3 children\, a bunch of rescue dogs and cats\, and a beautiful home in the Catalina Foothills where they have been stewarding the land for the past 10 years.
