Thanks to all our fall and recent rains, wildflowers are exploding everywhere. You can create your own “wild” yard by spreading native seeds. Large packages can be bought at Native Seed Search, Tohono Chul or some local nurseries. My display this year is spectacular! I have lupine, poppies, bluebells, penstemon and marigolds. Gopher plants and brittle bush are also showing up, though they may have spread on their own. Andy Bessey of Desert Horticulture (https://www.facebook.com/DesertHorticulture/) got me started on this. He suggests spreading seeds towards the end of September and then again 2 weeks later. Enjoy!
